On December 16th, 2025, the European Commission issued the implementation resolution (EU) 2025/2519 to update the harmonized standards referred to in the toy safety directive (2009/48/EC), involving two toy standards, EN 71-3 and EN 71-13.
Since December 16th, 2025, EN 71-3:2019+A2:2024 [Toy Safety Part 3: Migration of Certain Elements] and EN 71-13:2021+A2:2024 [Toy Safety Part 13: Smell Board Games, Cosmetic Suits and Taste Games] have been listed as the coordination standards of toy safety instructions. The previous versions EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021 and EN 71-13:2021+A1:2022 will be withdrawn on June 16th, 2027.
