On June 16, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced that it would include three substances in the new batch of SVHC candidate list at the end of June. At that time, the SVHC candidate list substances will be updated to 250 items.

As of now, the status of SVHC substances is summarized as follows:
◆ SVHC candidate list substances: 250 items (3 of which are pending final announcement);
◆ Pending substances: 1 item (resorcinol);
◆ SVHC intention list substances: 5 items.
Regulatory requirements for SVHC substances:
The REACH regulations stipulate that when the SVHC content in an article is greater than 0.1%, information must be transmitted within the supply chain; when the SVHC content in an article is greater than 0.1% and the annual export volume is greater than 1 ton, it must be notified to ECHA.
According to the EU Waste Framework Directive, from January 5, 2021, suppliers who put articles with SVHC content exceeding 0.1% on the EU market should submit relevant information of the articles to ECHA through the SCIP database.
