This revision is an important revision based on technical updates. Compared with the previous version, the new version has been improved and optimized in many key areas. The main changes include the following:

◆ Added the definition of leakage and ventilation on the basis of the test standard;

◆ Revised the over-discharge test;

◆ Revised the marking requirements;

◆ Revised the child-resistant packaging test standard;

◆ Changed the purpose of Appendix F from "informative" to "normative";

◆ Added a new Annex G, which contains additional measures for the abuse of batteries that are not replaceable by consumers;

◆ Integrate the contents of Interpretation Table 1 (IEC 60086-4:2019/ISH1:2020);

◆ In Clause 3, the terms are reordered by their functions: basic terms, electrochemical system, battery shape, battery size, electrical characteristics, specifications, safety aspects, failure modes;

◆ In 6.4.4, the impact acceleration exemption for lithium primary batteries is reduced from 12kg to 4,482kg to reflect that this is the threshold in IEC 62281 test T-4, where the peak acceleration is reduced to less than 150gn.
