In the current era of rapid development of smart homes, smart refrigerators have become the new favorite of many families. It can not only achieve food preservation and temperature control, but also bring convenient functions such as remote control and food management with the help of wireless technology. However, for smart refrigerators to be legally sold and used in China, SRRC certification is a threshold that must be crossed.
SRRC certification, namely the certification of the National Radio Regulatory Commission, is a mandatory type approval system implemented by China for radio transmitting equipment. According to the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Radio Management" and other regulations, radio transmitting equipment sold or used within the territory of China, including Internet of Things devices with wireless functions, must all pass SRRC certification and be marked with the approval code. The core purpose of this certification is to regulate the use of radio spectrum resources, ensure that equipment operates in the designated frequency band, and avoid interfering with critical services such as aviation and military communications. Ensure electromagnetic compatibility and prevent the equipment from generating excessive electromagnetic radiation that could affect other electronic devices; Safeguard national security and public interests, and prevent radio equipment from being used for illegal monitoring or interfering with critical infrastructure.
Smart refrigerators are usually equipped with wireless communication modules such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to achieve connection and data interaction with mobile phone apps, and thus fall within the mandatory scope of SRRC certification. When undergoing SRRC certification, smart refrigerators need to undergo multiple rigorous tests in SRRC-accredited laboratories within China. Frequency tolerance test is used to verify its frequency stability and ensure the accuracy of the transmission frequency. The transmission power test ensures that the power does not exceed the specified limit to avoid excessive interference. Stray radiation testing detects whether there are stray signals beyond the range to prevent interference with other devices. Only when these tests are successfully passed and it is proved that the product complies with relevant standards can the enterprise obtain the "Type Approval Certificate for Radio Transmitting Equipment". The certificate number format is CMIIT ID:XXXXXX - XXXXX, and the validity period is five years.
To apply for SRRC certification, enterprises need to make full preparations. In terms of qualifications, business licenses, ISO system certificates, product technical specification sheets, etc. need to be submitted. After completing the registration application on the radio management service acceptance platform, provide a prototype as required for testing. At the same time, the product label also has clear requirements. The approval code must be marked in a prominent position on the device in an unremovable manner, and the character height must be ≥1mm. If an enterprise sells smart refrigerators without certification, it will face a fine of 1 to 10 times the value of the goods.
For smart refrigerator enterprises, the SRRC certification is the "admission ticket" to enter the market and also a strong endorsement of product quality and safety. Obtaining certification not only ensures consumers' usage experience, enabling smart refrigerators to operate stably and safely, but also promotes the healthy development of the industry, encouraging enterprises to continuously improve product quality and technological levels, and helping the smart home industry reach a higher stage.
